Soo Yun delves into the intricate dual human psychology through her artistic exploration. Consistently encountering challenging situations and setbacks in her life, she finds herself oscillating between feelings of anxiety, fear, and brokenness, juxtaposed with a profound curiosity and excitement about the unfolding of her next life stage.
From her continuous experiences facing contrasting emotions, Soo Yun finds the life contemplation and tries to articulate it. Her creations embody contrasting qualities—pure and playful yet tinged with anxiety and violence, bright and colorful yet possessing an underlying darkness and roughness.
Soo Yun graduated from Ewha Womans University with a degree in painting and earned her Master of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute in New York, specializing in sculpture. Her work has been showcased in group exhibitions and solo shows mostly in the United States and Korea. Currently residing in New Jersey, Soo Yun continues to dedicate herself to her art and explores the profound aspects of identity through her unique artistic perspective.
